याच कारणाने तिळगुळ आम्हाला आजही गोड लागत नाही,

याच कारणाने आमच्या आयाबहिनी संक्रांती सारख्या मोठ्या सणाला काळी वस्त्र परीधान करतात ...

भारतीय इतिहासात अजरामर असलेल्या पानिपतच्या रणसंग्रामाला आज तब्बल २६१ वर्षे पूर्ण झालीत.

अहमदशाह अब्दालीच्या प्रचंड फौजेशी मावळे प्राणपणाने लढले.

स्वराज्य आणि स्वधर्माच्या रक्षणार्थ हजारो मराठा वीर योध्दे या निकराच्या लढाईत कामी आले.

१४ जानेवारी १७६१ हा दिवस आम्ही कदापि विसरणे शक्य नाही.

पानिपत.....

दीड लाख, मराठी माणसाच्या तीन पिढ्या एका दिवशी एकाच ठिकाणी खच्ची पडल्या.

उभा मराठा कापला गेला. लौकिकार्थाने काळा दिवस म्हणून या दिवसाची नोंद झाली.

पानिपत होणे हा वाक्प्रचारही रुजला.

युद्ध !

युद्ध म्हटले कि त्याची परिणती विजय किंवा पराभव. पानिपत हा मराठ्यांचा सर्वात मोठा पराभव होता का ?

मराठ्यांचे सैन्य उभे कापले गेले, म्हणून गारद्यांचा विजय आणि मराठ्यांचा पराभव झाला का ?

या युद्धानंतर काय झाले ?

खैबरखिंडीतून झालेले ते शेवटचे आक्रमण.

तीन पिढ्या मराठ्यांच्या गेल्या, पण कणा मोडला तो गनिमांचा ! शतकानुशतकांची परंपरा एका तडाख्यात थांबली.

अब्दालीचे कंबरडे मोडले आणि नशिबही.

घरी जाऊन तो मेला.

पुन्हा अल्लाह हु अकबर च्या आरोळ्या खिंडीपलीकडून आल्या नाहीत.

अर्यावार्ताला पुन्हा त्या सुलतानी आक्रमणाला तोंड द्यावे लागले नाही.

हेच तर साधायचे होते या युद्धातून !

साधले ही !

पराभव कुठे झाला !

पानिपत हि मराठ्यांनी देशासाठी दिलेली सवोत्तम आहुती होती. आहुती म्हणजे देशप्रेम.

पुन्हा मराठ्यांकडे कोणी देशप्रेमाचे दाखले मागू नयेत !

मराठे एकाकी लढले !

बचेंगे तो औरभी लढेंगे म्हणणारे दत्ताजीचे मराठे भुकेल्या पोटी आणि तहानलेल्या ओठी एकाकी लढले. राजपूत, जाट कोणी-कोणी म्हणून कोणी आले नाही! एकवेळ अब्दाली चालेल पण मरहटे नकोत !

एक होऊन लढले नाहीत सगळे,

पानिपत म्हणजे जाज्वल्य अभिमान ! 

सर्वोच्च कार्यक्षमता !

ज्यांच्या मातीत देशप्रेम उगवते म्हणतात त्या पंजाब सिंधच्या मातीत सर्वोच्च देशप्रेमाचा कधीच न मिटणारा ठसा महाराष्ट्राने उमटवलाय, त्याचे नाव पानिपत !

मराठा का एकाकी पडला ??

आपल्याविषयी विश्वास निर्माण कराया का कमी पडला ??

का परक्यांपेक्षा तो आपल्यांना अधिक परका वाटला ??

आज या प्रश्नाचे उत्तर शोधले पाहिजे !

महाराष्ट्राला या देशाचे नेतृत्व करायचे असेल, तर अवघ्या देशाचा विश्वास आपण मिळवला पाहिजे. सर्व देशात आदराचे स्थान मिळवले पाहिजे !!

पानिपत म्हणजे दुसर्यांवर विजय, आणि आपल्याकडून पराभव !!

आपल्याच लोकांमध्ये बेबनाव, आपल्या लोकांमध्ये अविश्वास आणि त्याचा बसलेला खूप मोठा फटका !!

या अर्थी पानिपत एक शिकवण !!

आणि एक गोष्ट तुम्ही नोंद केली असेल…

आम्ही यास लढाई म्हणत नाही,

मराठ्यांनी गाजवलेल्या पराक्रमाची गाथा,
